My name is Aditi Thorat, and I’m a fourth-year student at the University of Florida, majoring in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience and minoring in Chemistry. I was originally born in Toronto, Canada but was raised in Tampa, Florida, and I’m now fortunate enough to be able to call our campus here in Gainesville home. I’m passionate about building a future in which affordable, sustainable, culturally-relevant healthcare is universally accessible, and I firmly believe that education and intellectual empowerment are key first steps towards realizing this future. To this end, I’m involved in a number of education, advocacy, and outreach organizations, including Advocates for Youth, a nonprofit centered on reproductive justice and health, UNBND, an organization dedicated to dismantling human trafficking, and, of course, Circle of Women. I’m also a researcher at the Study of Teen Opioid Misuse and Prevention Lab here at the University of Florida and serve as a teaching assistant in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

The Project Development Director oversees the development of all projects for Circle of Women, from the idea stage to an approved proposal.
